First Rudd Of The Season For Matt Rand

Geplaatst Wit Vis Nieuws at Jul 09, 2011

mrrudd2Dynamite Baits employee Matt Rand has been experiencing a serious run of bad luck recently, even though those he is putting onto fish around him have been having a great time!

The Fenland based all rounder has had a very slow start to his season targeting River carp, even though his spots prepared with Dynamite's Sardine & Anchovy Boilies have produced fish to 36lb 8oz for some of his friends.

“I’m experiencing one of them periods where everything just seems to go wrong. From alarms developing a fault whilst I sleep to the fish starting to spawn out of the blue, nothing seems to be going right! I can’t complain though, I’ve seen friends land some cracking fish off my spots, so it’s good to know my preparation is paying off; my time will come!” commented Matt

During Matt’s last carping session, he located some large rudd slurping in floating crust, so took his spare rod and rigged up a large flake and flicked it just upstream of them. Straight away a large fish was hooked, and a cracking rudd of 2lb 4oz was soon lying before him on the mat.

“I’ve been wanting to target the rudd since the start of the season, but the carp have really been taking up my full attention. If it wasn't for the fact that the carp have now made it personal, I would be straight out targeting the rudd” Matt concluded
