Legends Match Raises Over A Grand

Geplaatst Match Nieuws at Jun 02, 2011

legendsmatchThe recent ‘Legends Match’, held at Willow Park Fishery was a great success, and saw over £1000 raised for Hematology Unit at Frimley Park Hospital, Camberley, Surrey.

The history of the Legends goes back to 1999, when there was a match in memory of Ken Collins (he was Captain of Farnborough Angling Club, Match team and a local builder in the area). This ran for 10 years and last year it was decided that the title would change to the "Legends", as the guys who fish, tend to fish in memory of a friend or family member.

It is a fun day, lots of banter and stories of the good old days!!!!

On the 7th May 2011 all the anglers met in the clubhouse at Willow Park for breakfast followed by the draw. After the draw the lads purchased their raffle tickets, all prizes being donated by many companies including Dynamite Baits. The match was held over the Small and Middle Lakes with 30 anglers fishing.

After the fishing it was back to the club house for the raffle and to find out who had won. The prizes were presented by Paul Murray the organiser of the "Legends".

The Results can be seen below.

1st DARREN DAVIES   with 78-00-00

2nd MYLES LEVY with 55-06-00

3rd CHRIS LOVE  with 47-02-00

Biggest Fish went to Ian Dixon

"A great day made by great and generous anglers, with a lot of help from Willow Park Fishery, WELL DONE " said organizer, Paul Murray
