Father and Son Get Amongst The Predators
Geplaatst Roofvis Nieuws at Feb 24, 2011
Father and Son Duo, Mike and Ben Greenhill, enjoyed a productive session in pursuit of predators down one of their local Fenland Rivers.
Having arrived around mid-afternoon, they were greeted by perfect conditions for not only pike, but hopefully some daytime zander.
Armed with two rods each, the pair rigged up with light float rigs and baited up with either Dynamite Baits Mackerel or Dynamite's Smelt deadbaits. During their afternoon session, action was regularly fourth coming, with the first bite of the day producing a low double figure pike to Ben on a mackerel that had only been in the water for 2 minutes!
The pick of the bunch was a 10lb 1oz zander caught by Mike. The fish was extremely dark in colouration and very prehistoric looking. This was Mikes first double figure zed of the season. Ben also scored well with the Zeds, landing a cracking fish of 7lb 4oz. Mike also added a smaller zander of around 5lb. All the zeds fell to Smelt Deadbaits.
Betweem them, they also landed a further four pike, to a best of 14lb 12oz for Mike.
