The 22nd of July 2004 was the day Hugh and I set sail on our epic journey through angling in search of the monsters which swim in the lakes and rivers of Great Britain. The kind of fish which keep grown men awake at night like a kid on Christmas Eve - their spell so powerful anglers can be willing to lose friends and partners in the pursuit of such leviathans. This world would become ours for the next few years and I just hoped that we wouldn't be consumed by it and lose the reason that we started the project in the first place - to portray our beloved sport in all her glory, to enable non anglers to understand our passion. After 4 years of searching for these elusive monsters, we have almost completed our journey.

The TV series will hopefully be screened early in 09 however the book will be published in October 2008 which will tell the story behind 'Catching The Impossible'. From beginning to end it charts Hugh Miles and Martin Bowler's epic journey through angling, showing the highs and lows of creating the television series.

The book will be published by M Press, the firm behind Terry Hearns new book. Produced in full colour it will not only contain a huge range of pictures from the adventure but also over 30 colour drawings by renowned wildlife artist, Rodger McPhail.
